À propos de Arutjun Kotchinian

Arutyun Kochinian was trained at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow (under Yevgeny Nesterenko, among others), and later under Tom Krause, Kurt Moll, and Helmuth Rilling (oratorio). He was engaged at the Stanislavski Opera in Moscow while still a student. In 1994 he won the Shalyapin Competition, in 1995 the audience prize at the Belvedere Wettbewerb, and a year later the ARD-Musikwettbewerb; in 1997 the BBC competition in Cardiff followed and in 1999 the Grand Prix at the Maria Callas Competition in Athens. In addition to famous Mozart roles (Leporello, Don Giovanni, Figaro) his focus is on Italian repertoire (Ramphis, Ferrando, Banco, Sparafucile, Don Basilio, Alvise), but it also includes, for example, Schönberg’s "Moses und Aron" (High Priest), Strauss’s "Daphne" (Peneios), and Hindemith’s "Die Harmonie der Welt" (Rudolf II, Ferdinand II; WER 66522) and "The Long Christmas Dinner" (WER 66762; Brandon). Since 1995 he has been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In addition to concert performances in oratorios, masses, and symphonies, he also offers regular lieder evenings.
