À propos de Christoph Hartmann

The oboist Christoph Hartmann was born in 1965 in Landsberg am Lech, Germany. He began his studies at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg. Further studies took him to Günther Passin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where he completed a master class diploma in oboe and chamber music. He began his career with the Stuttgart Philharmonic before being engaged by the Berlin Philharmonic.

He has won prizes at national and international competitions (in Geneva, Tokyo, and Toulon) and is active as a soloist and chamber musician. In 1999, he founded the chamber music festival “Landsberger Sommermusiken” and is the festival’s artistic director. With colleagues from the Berlin Philharmonic, he has played throughout the world with the Ensemble Berlin for more than 15 years.

Hartman has toured as a soloist in Asia, Europe, South America, and the USA and is a regular guest at festivals in Norway, Brazil, Japan, Italy, and Germany. In 2015, he will assume artistic direction of the festival “Vinterfestspill i Bergstaden” in Røros, Norway. As a soloist, he has recorded many CDs, and has made five chamber music recordings with the Ensemble Berlin.
