À propos de Georg Sachse

Georg Sachse (born 1962) cut his musical teeth in diverse jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, and folk music ensembles. He received bass lessons from Gunnar Plümer, and singing lessons from Gisella Kockerols. He has studied musicology, pedagogy, theology, philosophy, ethnology, German literature, and Japanology at the universities in Cologne and Bonn, and completed his Magister Artium in phonetics at Cologne University (with Georg Heike). His interdisciplinary dissertation on the American composer Steve Reich was published by the Bosse publishers in the series, Kölner Beiträge zur Musikwissenschaft [Cologne Essays on Musicology]. At the university in Cologne, he serves as “secondary-school teacher in university service” at the Institute of Linguistics / Phonetics; he also gives instrumental instruction and works as a speaker (participating in numerous CD, DVD, and television productions). In addition to various vocal artistic activities Sachse plays Acoustic and Electric Guitars and their relatives, upright and electric bass, synthesizers, and various percussion instruments. His musical emphases as a composer and performer are therefore diverse, ranging from different varieties of jazz, singer/ songwriter, to electronica and experimental music. A further essential area of emphasis in his activities is music pedagogy with children and young people.
