À propos de Jovita Zähl

Jovita Zähl was born in Bensberg, near Cologne, studied piano at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and at the music universities in Cologne and Düsseldorf. Her piano teachers were Jean-Claude Vanden-Eynden, Aloys Kontarsky, and David Levine. After her studies, she played in various New Music ensembles and participated in composers’ workshops. Her years of study and travel took her to many places, until she decided for the sake of her children to establish a fixed residence.
Today, she is a soloist and chamber musician, as well as a piano teacher and accompanist. She arranges concerts characterized by a broad repertory with works from the Baroque period to music of our own times, in which she discovers and reveals inner connections and contrasts between the various pieces of music. She often takes part in New Music events, has played in a piano duo for a number of years, and has presented premiere performances of new works for piano. As a piano teacher and accompanist, she has held various teaching positions, and today lives and works in Cologne.
