À propos de Kai Wessel

Kai Wessel studied, at the Music Hochschule in Lübeck, music theory (with Roland Ploeger), composition (with Friedhelm Döhl), and voice (with Ute von Garczynski – his concert diploma was awarded with honors). At the same time, he completed a study of Baroque Performance Practice René Jacobs at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, and was Jacobs’s assistant in the preparation of a number of operas. Numerous opera guest appearances and stage productions have taken him to festivals for both Baroque and contemporary music. He has received many awards and recorded more than 90 CDs. Kai Wessel is currently professor for singing and historical performance practice at the Hochschule for Music and Dance in Cologne and also teaches at the Conservatory in Vienna.
